Updating the SDS Document from PDF disk files can be accomplished using a single batch process.
To load and update SDS documents from individual files within a single folder on the local hard disk:
Place SDS files to load into the update folder (the default location in Preferences).
File names should match the SDS ID of the Product to be updated plus the file extension. For example, a product record with an SDS ID of “12345” will match a text file called 12345.txt located in the update folder. If Images are to be loaded, place them in a folder named with the SDS ID. The image files within the folder will be loaded in alphabetical order ( 001, 002 or A, B will become pages 1-2).
Select the following:
Verify the import date (the current date is the default).
If Archive Existing Document is selected, SDSpro will archive the existing document if a replacement document is located and successfully loaded from the update folder. If it is not selected, it will be overwritten by the replacement document if a replacement document is successfully loaded from the update folder. If no replacement is found, the existing document will not be replaced or archived.
Select the language in which the updated document is written. The language selection made here will be reflected in the language column within the attached documents window.
Click Update From Hard Disk
A thermometer will appear showing the status of the update. All files that are successfully loaded are moved into a folder named "Processed" within the update folder.
