Importing the Master Chemical Index (MCI) into SDSpro™

IMPORTANT: Importing the Master Chemical Index may overwrite existing chemical records. Chemical records not to be modified should have their ‘No Auto Update’ checkbox checked. |
To import the Master Chemical Index into SDSpro
Locate the MCI_DATA_q_20yy.exe file on the SDSpro Master Chemical Index USB (where q is
the Quarter and yy is the Year) or download from the URL provided.
Double-click to execute the MCI_DATA_q_20yy.exe file

Following the prompts in the installer, extract the MCI Data File to the Desktop or another convenient
location (Default is C:\MCI).
Launch SDSpro.
From the menu select Special Functions -> Preferences

Click on the Interface tab and then on the EXECUTE METHOD button.

Enter the password: msdsprokeys

Enter the Method to Execute Import_ChemicalData

SDSpro displays a confirmation message stating that certain records will be overwritten.
Click on the CONTINUE button.
Browse to the location of the MCI_Data_q_20yy file and double-click
the icon to open it.
NOTE: For SDSpro version 7.0.28 and above, select the larger file ending in *.v3
For earlier versions, select the file with no extension.

SDSpro displays a progress meter while importing the update.
Click the SAVE button in the lower right hand corner of the Administrative Preferences window.
Continue to use SDSpro normally.
